Travel For Teens staff meet a profile that is designed to ensure a quality experience for our participants, consistent with the Travel For Teens philosophy.

We have a very small number of Junior/Senior counselor positions available for this summer. Currently we are in need of staff with fluency in French and/or Italian. We are also in need of experienced Spanish teachers.

Junior Counselors are college students or sometimes recent graduates who are able to travel for nearly the entire summer and who genuinely love working with teens.

Senior Counselors are a minimum of 21 years old, college graduates, and are experts on a country in which we travel. Senior Counselors demonstrate expertise by either being a native of a particular country or having spent significant time studying the language and culture of a country at the college level.

All counselors are required to be proficient in one or preferably two languages, in addition to superior communication skills in English. We prefer applicants who have spent time in and have acquired intimate knowledge of the locations where we travel. Experience working with 13-18 year olds, preferably in a camp environment, is crucial. Finally a giving, nurturing personality balanced with leadership skills and the ability to set limits is vital. The success of our programs depends on communicating to our participants that they are welcomed and valued. We seek out flexible people who work well on a team, have enormous stamina, and are physically fit. A clear head in unusual circumstances and an ability to change roles quickly are vital. We check references thoroughly and require a personal interview prior to final hires. You will work with experienced Travel For Teens staff.
