Travel for Teens: ParliamentThe Travel For Teens version of the United Kingdom features not only seeing the sights but going to the next level for cultural exploration and understanding. Our hallmark is balanced fun and learning, without regimentation, featuring choices of activities, all in an atmosphere that is as much like living as a local as possible.

Our London and Scotland experience embodies all of this and more. We offer theatre and rock concerts in London (this summer you'll have the opportunity to see the legendary Eric Clapton perform in Hyde Park with special guests John Mayer and Sheryl Crow!*), a WWII experience you can literally taste, and a final day at an authentic Scottish Highland Games competition where we may be the only non-Scots attending!

Our trip begins in bright, buzzing and full of life London, one of the most exciting cities in the world. At its heart lies the West End. This is where you go for shopping, eating and entertainment - everything from theatre to nightclubs and gourmet restaurants. London is also a vibrant, bustling, multi-cultural city full of history, heritage and culture. And it never stands still. From the history, shopping, theatre and nightlife to the London eye, the mighty Ferris wheel overlooking the entire city, our insider's view of London offers what no other experience does. You will live for an unforgettable few days as a local, connecting with the soul of this great city. You will meet people from all over the world as well, making this the never to be forgotten trip of a lifetime. Kids in the City

HarrodsLondon offers beautiful squares and secret spots, some of which will be familiar from the "Harry Potter" movies. You can shop till you drop at Harrods. This mother of all upscale department stores, full of designer fashions and things that just cannot be found anywhere else is a legendary experience itself. For a different shopping flavor, you can prowl the stalls of Camden Market, the antithesis of Harrods.  While the section just next to the tube station continues to sell clubby T-shirts, trendy platform shoes and inexpensive interpretations of current fashions, The Electric Market sells second-hand clothes and young designers' wares. This is a young person's shopping Mecca.

Camden MarketWe will also travel by foot, enjoying the city in a different and highly entertaining way... centuries of history, a story around every corner, tales of the good, the bad and the ugly. We see where the town was born, where the Romans walked and where Shakespeare talked. Tales of scandal and intrigue abound. We explore parks and palaces, imagining the legacy of kings and queens in their majesty and malice. We hear the eccentric rantings of the orators at Speakers Corner, then explore the West End, teeming with partiers. In the Piazza at Covent Garden there are street performers entertaining the crowds every day.

Lenny Kravitz concertWe will search out concerts and attend the theatre for which London is famous.

Borough Market is not only adored by celebrity chefs, it was recently voted a top destination itself, and if you love food you'll know why. There are stalls of organic breads, cakes, honeys, cheeses, meats, fruit and vegetables, as well as smoothies and savory treats.

London BridgeChanging of the GuardWe also, of course, see the key visitors' sights. You have choices of what to do. The London Tower houses the priceless Crown Jewels, the Medieval Palace, the infamous Bloody Tower, and over 90 inscriptions made by prisoners in the Beauchamp Tower. The 700 year old ceremony of the locking of the main gates of the Tower of London is carried out every night of the year.

You will take a nighttime walk in the steps of Jack the Ripper.

Visit the 19 State Rooms of Buckingham Palace, including the Throne Room, Picture Gallery and Ballroom, the largest room in Buckingham Palace.

The Changing of the Guard is a must see event for any visitor to London.

Arise at dawn to have your photo made on Abbey Road, the crosswalk made famous by the Beatles' album of the same name...

Globe Theatre You can watch a play at Shakespeare's restored Globe theatre or visit Winston Churchill's apartments and war rooms, which make WWII so vivid you can practically smell the smoke of the Blitz. The space is exactly as it was at the time and includes the famous war room and Churchill's private apartments.

In London's military museum, learn the story of the British soldier in peace and war, through five centuries. You can learn why the British soldier wore his red coat and why, for hundreds of years, the weapons were so inaccurate it didn't matter that wearing red meant that the enemy could see where you were!

Westminster AbbeySee the famous bell tower and its even more famous bell, Big Ben. Our leaders provide an engaging and informative commentary on the houses of Parliament, the most historic of institutions. One of Britain's finest Gothic buildings is Westminster Abbey, scene of the coronation, marriage and burial of British monarchs. Poets' Corner in Westminster Abbey contains memorials to many famous poets. However, Lord Byron ('mad, bad and dangerous to know') was thought too profligate to be allowed in - he didn't get a memorial stone there until 1969, although he died in 1824!

For horse lovers it is possible to visit the Queens Mews (Stables). This is a magnificent working stable housing not only horse-drawn vehicles including the Gold State Coach but also many of the Cleveland Bay and Windsor Grey horses which play an important role on ceremonial occasions.

Kensington Palace is probably best known as being the London home of the late Princess Diana. The Palace is also the home of the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, a unique display of royal, ceremonial and court dress including a selection of dresses worn and owned by HM Queen Elizabeth II and Diana, Princess of Wales.

StonehengeWhile London is a teeming, exciting city with tons of things to do, not all of the choices are in London. Visit Neolithic Stonehenge, a World Heritage Site. Standing alone on Salisbury Plain it is one of the most important prehistoric monuments in the world, visible from miles around.

This is your chance to make up your mind about the mystery that is Stonehenge. Our access is special and exceptional. See the burial mounds of the pre-historic Bronze Age people and hear about the recent finds which help us to learn even more about our ancestors.

EdinburghSCOTLAND
Saying goodbye to London, you will fly to Scotland, the most up and coming country in Europe. You have a chance to see Scotland as a native, before it changes forever. Scotland is changing and developing rapidly as a tourist destination--visit while it is still authentic.

In the same way New Zealand got so much buzz from the Lord of the Rings movies, Scotland is already seeing a surge of Da Vinci Code tourists visiting locations featured in the book and movie.

EdinburghHighland GamesEdinburgh is lively and full of happy young people enjoying life. Edinburgh Castle is history itself. In the countryside, the legendary Scottish Highlands of Rob Roy and William Wallace (Braveheart) remain unchanged by time.

The fabulous finale to this trip features a visit to famous Loch Ness* (search for its famous monster), followed by a traditional Highland Games competition. This is a glorious and exciting pageant of clan tartans sported by men and women alike and some very serious competition accompanied by the haunting pipes for which the Scots are famous.

BagpiperBike RideThe beauty of authentic travel is you cannot be sure until you get there. Shop, have dinner in the local pubs, take wonderful digital photographs of bonny Scotland, or simply go for walks and enjoy local sights and sounds.

In the words of famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns, "No man is penniless while he has friends." Magical, mystical, mysterious, and monumental... our London and Scotland adventure is special indeed.
