"After traveling with TFT last summer to France, Italy, and Switzerland, I thought nothing could top the memories I made on this whirlwind trip. Traveling to Thailand this summer as a CIT gave me a whole new level of appreciation for TFT and the impact the staff has on shaping the campers' experiences. I loved the balance between community service, cultural exploration, and exhilarating adventures. Everyday brought something new and different especially as we traveled across the country to experience the natural beauty, bustling cities, and breathtaking islands Thailand has to offer. "This past summer, I went on my third TFT trip and was once again swept off my feet by the adventure. On each trip, I have made lifelong memories and friends that I will forever cherish and they each have a spot on the ten best experiences of my life. My most recent trip, USA: California and the Grand Canyon, showed me the beauty in my backyard. One of my favorite parts was the bike tour in Santa Monica. It was a great way to explore the area with new friends. I also enjoyed going to the famous Griffith Observatory to watch the sunset and see the City of Angels light up the sky at night. The mix of activities planned for the trip made sure that everyone had something to do that was right up their alley, from sea kayaking to watching a show in Las Vegas! This also allows campers to get out of their comfort zone and try new things, such as surfing lessons. In Arizona, we got more in touch with the Earth and explored Grand Canyon National Park and Antelope Canyon, two of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Travel for Teens has had such a big influence on my life and because of them, I am a traveler, not a tourist."
"I went on the Bali Ultimate Service and Adventure trip. At first, I was hesitant to sign up for this trip as it was 10,000 miles from my home and it was 21 days long. However, once I arrived, I knew that I had made the right decision. The counselors, other campers, and I immediately all clicked and we became so close that we called ourselves a family. On top of the close relationships that I formed, the trip and all of the activities that we did were amazing. TFT did a really good job of creating a schedule that was a perfect mix of fun, service, and immersion in the culture. When asked what day or activity on the trip was my favorite, I couldn’t choose. Every day was filled with amazing activities. Apart from the fun and adventurous activities that we did such as white water rafting, we also participated in life-changing service. One service activity that we did was tutoring children at the local schools. It was amazing to see the impact that just a couple of English classes had on those kids, it was truly a life-changing experience that I will never forget. I was able to check off Bali from my bucket list, while getting service hours, and making some of the best friends that I have ever had!"
"I have been so fortunate to experience two unbelievable TFT trips. I have visited destinations in Europe that were so beautiful that words cannot describe it. Through these trips I have gained many stories that I look forward to sharing, I have gained confidence in myself to be independent, and I have tasted food that can only be dreamt about. I was able to go paragliding through the Swiss Alps, go canyoning in Slovenia, island hopping in Croatia, visit the Louvre, and climb the Eiffel Tower. The opportunities that were provided through TFT were amazing and I would recommend any of their trips because you will have a once in a lifetime experience."
"This summer I went to the Costa Rica for Younger Teens: Hola Costa Rica trip. It's a very big step to go out of the country with people you don't know. Trust me I was very hesitant. It takes a lot of courage to sign up for something so far out of your comfort zone, but I assure you, you will NOT regret it. I had the time of my life. Everything was perfect. The food was wonderful. The other kids were great. The counselors were very professional and experienced. It was truly a life-changing experience that I was lucky enough to be a part of."
"I know you saw on social media, but I just wanted to “officially” tell you how wonderful the SHA British Isles trip was. Every day was full of fun and so many different activities and the pacing was perfect. Hannah and Hunt are awesome and felt just like SHA people (like you do too!). Our students were so happy and enjoyed it so much. It is truly a privilege to get to travel with them and be their teacher/friend in an entirely different capacity. All the trips are up on there on my “best of” list, but this one ranks near the top. Thanks for all the work that you and TFT do to make these trips possible. I know how much behind the scenes work goes on and how many different hands are involved. One of our Sacred Heart principles is educating to global awareness and I can’t think of many better ways to help them continue to develop into global citizens than through travel. "Both photography trips I have done with my photography students with TFT were amazing.TFT photography trips provide a great combination of practical knowledge and inspiration. The photography instructors are knowledgeable, communicate well with students and chaperones, and work hard to ensure that the travelers have a fabulous experience. It is amazing to witness our teens' skills and passion for photography grow throughout the course of the trip. "Traveling to Bali with Travel for Teens on the Bali Ultimate Service and Adventure trip has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I was excited to embrace long-haul international travel and finally explore somewhere that far from my home. Like a lot of people, I was nervous about how I was going to fit in within the group. That was fear was quickly squashed and I formed some very close friendships with everyone on the trip, from other travelers to the counselors to our amazing local guides. This trip was very diverse in many ways: both in the cultures of the regions we visited, the activities that we did, and the composition of our surrounding environment. This trip had a bit of everything, which I loved! We went from cityscapes to mountains to beaches. We had valuable service opportunities, working to restore coral reefs and practicing English with local children and more. We also had adventures like white water rafting, mountainside hikes, and scuba diving. It is really difficult to answer the question “what was your favorite part of the trip” because there really wasn’t one singular event; however, a part of the trip that I found really valuable was eating dinner with the prince. Talking with him provided insight into their culture and their views. He answered our questions about Bali and we answered his about America and Canada. 21 days flew by so fast and while our group is no longer in Bali, the friendships and memories remain."
"I traveled on the Costa Rica Adrenaline this summer. It was my first time traveling without my family, and, boy, was I nervous. All those fears quickly disappeared once I arrived to the airport and met my travel mates. Although we all came from different parts of the country we immediately bonded. I loved the hacienda and its horses. The tubing was my favorite of the many adventures. The guides made me feel comfortable and safe. I made lifelong friends and can’t wait for my next TFT adventure next summer."
