Greece School Trip Overview

There’s no better way to get students excited about travel than to bring them to one of the most exciting destinations on the planet: Greece! This tour offers something for everyone–the impressive archaeology of Athens, incredible seascapes seen from the island of Paros, and the classic whitewashed houses and blue domes of Santorini. During this tour, we’ll also take a day trip to the ancient village of Delphi, renowned as being home of the Oracle. We’ll bring Greek culture to life with interactive activities like cooking classes, scavenger hunts, an authentic Greek coffee lesson, and plenty of opportunities to interact with the warm and friendly locals.

Our mission is to provide an authentic experience rooted in “teaching teens to be travelers, not tourists.” Our staff will give students the tools they’ll need wherever their travels might take them. TFT’s years of experience bringing students to Europe means that we know exactly how to educate, excite, and inspire. Join us for the chance to immerse your students in the best of Greece and leave them with memories to last a lifetime!

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: Depart for Europe!

Flight from your preferred airport to Athens.

DAY 2: Kalimera Athens!

Upon your arrival in Athens, you’ll be greeted at the airport by your Travel For Teens guides, who will accompany you for the duration of your journey. After getting settled into the hotel, we’ll have lunch and head to downtown Athens for a walking tour. See Constitution Square, wander the winding streets of the historical Plaka neighborhood, and explore the market district of Monastiraki. We’ll top off an exciting first day with your first taste of authentic Greek cuisine at one of our favorite local restaurants.

DAY 3: Classical Athens

This morning, step back in time 2500 years to the height of ancient Greek civilization at the incredible Acropolis! First, we’ll visit the Acropolis Museum, rated one of the world’s top 10 museums. Then we’ll see this incredibly well-preserved monument ourselves. After lunch, students will have free time to explore Plaka and shop for souvenirs on Ermou Street. For dinner, try your hand at making your own Greek delicacies in our cooking class.

DAY 4: Island Hop to Paros

Today, we’ll depart Athens and do like the Greeks do: board a ferry to visit an island! The first island we’ll stay at on our journey is Paros, a beautiful island in the Mediterranean. Upon our arrival, we’ll have lunch, then head down to the beach for some relaxing and swimming! Watch the sunset over the sea as we enjoy dinner at one of the island’s most beautiful lookout spots.

Day 5: Continue to Our Next Island -- Santorini!

Take some time to explore the winding cobblestone streets of Paroikia, the main town on Paros, before boarding the ferry to our next island: the famous Santorini. Upon our arrival, we’ll explore the town and relax before enjoying dinner.

Day 6: Picturesque Oia

Begin the day in the village of Oia, one of the most photographed places on the planet. Students will surely recognize its whitewashed buildings, blue domes, and antique windmills. We’ll spend the day strolling through the town and capturing its scenic beauty. This evening, watch the sunset from aboard our own private sunset cruise along the Santorini caldera. Swim in hot springs and take in the breathtaking Aegean views!

Day 7: Stunning Fira

We’ll visit Santorini’s other picturesque village, Fira, and soak up Greek life as we explore its narrow alleyways and quaint shops. There will be time for swimming at the hotel pool this morning as well. In the afternoon, we’ll board the ferry to return to Athens, where we’ll have dinner.

Day 8: Final Day in Athens

On our final day in Greece, we’ll begin the day with a scavenger hunt in the Agora, the birthplace of democracy in the heart of historical Athens. This afternoon, you’ll have free time to do some souvenir shopping in the hip neighborhood of Monastiraki, or to visit any museums or sites you may have missed. To celebrate the end of an amazing journey, we’ll enjoy an upscale dinner dressed in our finest and reminisce on the memories we’ve made in Italy and Greece.

DAY 9: Yeia Sou, Greece!

Your TFT guides will accompany you to the airport and assist you with check-in for your flight. Wave goodbye as you head through security and sit back and relax on your flight home.

Make your adventure longer - add a day trip to Delphi

This itinerary can be adapted to a ten-day adventure by adding a day trip to Delphi.

During our Delphi day trip, we’ll head out of Athens to the mythical city of Delphi, home of the Oracle. Enjoy lunch at a beautiful lookout point outside the village, then take a guided tour of Delphi, which was also home to Apollo and the site of the original Panhellenic Games (precursors to the Olympic Games). Enjoy time to get to know Delphi on your own before we board our private coach and return to Athens for dinner.

The TFT Difference

We Never Combine Groups

Your tour should be special and just for you and your students! We will never combine two or more groups on the same bus or tour. We will lead a trip with as few as six people and a teacher. Your Trip Director travels with you for the duration of your program.

Stress-Free Planning and 24/7 Support

We are there for you every step of the way, and our support begins the moment you decide to do a TFT trip! We will provide you with a team member who will help bring your tour to life, along with everything you need to help get students to sign up for the adventure! On the tour you will have 24/7 dedicated staff with you to ensure everything runs smoothly and because we know travel is full of surprises, solve anything that may pop up along the way.

Photos and Email Updates

Your trip is special and you and your students should have those memories captured forever! Expect frequent personal email updates and hundreds of photos from your TFT staff shared with you and your students’ families so everyone can follow along on the journey. We are the only teen travel program to offer this in-depth trip communication and it truly makes all the difference!

Central Accommodation and Local Meals

Authenticity is engrained in everything we do. We stay at locally owned accommodation in the city center so you don’t waste your valuable time commuting. We dine at charming authentic restaurants to get a real flavor (literally!) for the local culture. The best way to travel is like a local. So ditch the tour bus and have a real traveler’s experience with us!

"I wanted to thank you for a fantastic trip for Kayla. She was very excited but also very anxious about this trip. I heard from her a lot the first few days but was really encouraging her to advocate for herself. It sounds like she worked on doing that and relayed the positive outcomes of conversing with you. That was a big deal for us. In addition to that it sounds like an amazing trip, and never having been to Greece I’m envious! I hope that you enjoyed your time as well.Thank you so much for your updates, support, and for working with my daughter. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer."

"This trip…my goodness!!! When we hear from Jordan, he is beyond happy! He has said that “this is the best time he’s ever had” and things “couldn't be better”. Based on the photos, your blogs and the things he tells us, he is not going to want to come home!! Thank you, Vianeli and Hana for making this an experience of a lifetime!"

"The feedback is that this has been the most outstanding trip Charlie has ever taken. This will go down as the time when my son broke out of his shell and started to really love life people places and experiences. Yes for such incredible friendships from these past 12 days and I don’t think I have ever seen him quite so happy every single time I talk to him. Charlie has expressed to me on numerous accounts how wonderful a counselor and guide and mentor and friend that you have have been. It is his fourth trip and by far his most favorite on all fronts. I can’t thank you enough for taking care of our children while in Europe. It’s a huge responsibility and you took it seriously and gave them the time of their lives. I could not be more grateful and appreciative of this trip and the program and the moments that he will carry with him the rest of his life. AAA+ grade in my book."
