Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: Cheerio, London!

Flight from your preferred airport to London.

DAY 2: Welcome to Westminster

Welcome to Great Britain! Arrive in London and meet your TFT staff, who will join you for the remainder of your journey. After getting settled into your hotel in the heart of the city, we’ll take a walking tour of downtown London to familiarize ourselves with the main sights, including the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, 10 Downing Street, the River Thames, and of course Big Ben! Finish off the day with your very first taste of British cuisine at one of our favorite local pubs.

DAY 3: The best views in London

The impressive Tower of London awaits today. Once home to some of England’s most notorious prisoners and now housing the Crown Jewels, this is a must-see and a student favorite! We’ll receive a guided tour from the Yeoman Warder guards at the Tower before crossing Tower Bridge (also known as London Bridge). After a delicious lunch in the always-busy Borough Market, we’ll explore the Southbank neighborhood and visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Top it all off with a ride on the London Eye, the massive Ferris Wheel that gives the best views over all of London!

DAY 4: Teas and Traditions

We’ll spend today enjoying some of London’s finest traditions, beginning with the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. For lunch, visit the amazing food trucks in Camden Market, which serve cuisine from all over the world. Take some time to hunt for treasures in the Market before choosing from several afternoon options. We understand that student travelers have diverse interests and needs, so our staff do their very best to accommodate everyone’s must-sees. Readers of Sherlock Holmes can visit 221B Baker Street; Harry Potter fans can visit Platform 9 ¾ at King’s Cross Station; or they can walk in the footsteps of the Beatles at Abbey Road. After dinner, enjoy a night out in London’s hip West End Theatre District or perhaps at Shakespeare’s Globe!

DAY 5: The rolling hills of Scotland

A leisurely train ride brings us from London to Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. After getting settled in, explore this beautiful city’s top attraction, the Edinburgh Castle. Of course, the views from the UNESCO World Heritage site at Calton Hill aren’t to be missed. For dinner, try traditional Scottish cuisine–Haggis, anyone?

Day 6: Stroll the Royal Mile

Stroll down the Royal Mile to the Queen’s summer residence at Holyroodhouse Palace. Adventurous travelers will then have the opportunity to climb all the way up to Arthur’s Seat, which boasts the best views over all Edinburgh. After a refreshing picnic lunch, students will be able to spend their final afternoon as they choose, for example visiting the Scottish National Museum or with a Harry Potter-themed tour of the city. We’ll celebrate the end of an amazing trip with an upscale dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants, featuring, as always, authentic local cuisine and great atmosphere.

Day 7: Quaint Irish villages

A short flight will bring us from Edinburgh to Galway, home to Irish traditions and picturesque scenery. Upon our arrival, we’ll take a walking tour of this quaint village to see famous sights like the Spanish Arch, Quay Street, Kirwan Lane, and Eyre Square. During dinner at a classic Irish pub, students can watch live music performances at a traditional sessiún.

Day 8: Aran Islands & Inis Mor

Ride the ferry out to the Aran Islands to step back in time to nearly 5,000 years ago, when the Pagans called these islands home. We’ll have a guided bike tour of the island of Inis Mor, where no cars are allowed and the pace of life is just a little slower. Our local guide will bring us to the 5000-year-old ring fort Dun Aengus, the Pagan Burial Mounds, and show us around the charming village of Inis Mor. (An alternative will be offered for those not comfortable on a bike.) After some free time to explore the village, we’ll ride the ferry back to the mainland and return to Galway for dinner and an evening walk for ice cream.

Day 9: The Cliffs of Moher

On our final day in Ireland, students will have time for any last-minute activities they missed before we head out to the coast to see the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. Plunging into the sea from heights of over 700 feet, the Cliffs will give students an appreciation for Ireland’s world-famous landscapes. Celebrate the end of an amazing trip with an upscale Medieval Banquet at a real castle! Be serenaded by minstrels as you eat, get dressed up in traditional garb, enjoy ancient recipes, and someone will even be crowned King and Queen!

DAY 10: Until next time!

Your TFT guides will accompany you to the airport and assist you with check-in for your flight. Wave goodbye as you head through security and sit back and relax on your flight home.

The TFT Difference

We Never Combine Groups

Your tour should be special and just for you and your students! We will never combine two or more groups on the same bus or tour. We will lead a trip with as few as six people and a teacher. Your Trip Director travels with you for the duration of your program.

Stress-Free Planning and 24/7 Support

We are there for you every step of the way, and our support begins the moment you decide to do a TFT trip! We will provide you with a team member who will help bring your tour to life, along with everything you need to help get students to sign up for the adventure! On the tour you will have 24/7 dedicated staff with you to ensure everything runs smoothly and because we know travel is full of surprises, solve anything that may pop up along the way.

Photos and Email Updates

Your trip is special and you and your students should have those memories captured forever! Expect frequent personal email updates and hundreds of photos from your TFT staff shared with you and your students’ families so everyone can follow along on the journey. We are the only teen travel program to offer this in-depth trip communication and it truly makes all the difference!

Central Accommodation and Local Meals

Authenticity is engrained in everything we do. We stay at locally owned accommodation in the city center so you don’t waste your valuable time commuting. We dine at charming authentic restaurants to get a real flavor (literally!) for the local culture. The best way to travel is like a local. So ditch the tour bus and have a real traveler’s experience with us!

"My experience traveling with TFT was nothing but extraordinary. In the summer of 2017 I set off, by myself for the first time, to travel abroad in Europe. Not only did Travel for Teens place me in a group with amazing people that I grew to be very close with, but I was guided through this trip with knowledgeable group leaders who cared about giving us the best experience possible. Through TFT I was able to visit the countries of Italy, Switzerland, and Paris. Each day was jam packed full of different activities including museums, hiking, eating delicious local cuisine, and creating new relationships with my group. My leaders, Taylor and Holden, knew facts regarding each area we ventured to, which made the trip so much more interesting and thoughtful. My favorite part about this trip, and the TFT company as a whole, was that travel, accommodation, and each experience was local and unique. We never loaded onto a tour bus, did not wait in long lines, stand in big crowds, or follow someone with a giant sign to each destination. Travel for Teens was personal, giving chief importance to an authentic experience abroad. I felt so secure with my team throughout the whole trip, with each activity being very well researched and planned, so there was never any confusion or worry. It was through this safe environment I was able to experience the true beauty of travel, which has inspired me to go out of my comfort zone, not to be timid, but to run towards any new opportunity in my life with an open mind!"

"My experience going on an adventure with Travel For Teens was incredible and unforgettable. Last summer, I went on the two week trip to Florence, Cinque Terre, Switzerland, and Paris with Older Teens. My trip had a rough start, since I did not go on the group flight, and my flight missed a connection in Portugal. I was scared that I would be missing out on activities and that it would be difficult to make friends if I joined the trip after it started. It was such a relief when I finally arrived in Florence and was greeted by my counselor Mike at the airport. He made me feel comfortable right away. It turned out that multiple people on my trip had problems with flights and TFT was able to keep track of everyone and collect them one by one from the airport. Once I got over the sleep deprivation from the long overnight flight, all of my worries went away and I had the best time traveling around Europe with people from all over the country, none of whom I had met before yet all of whom I became friends with. From Italy to Switzerland to France, we saw all of the famous sites and tried all of the amazing food. Just a few of the memorable experiences included learning how to make delicious homemade pesto in Cinque Terre, sampling fondue in Interlaken, paragliding through the Alps, and climbing up the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I must have taken over two thousand pictures over the span of the trip, and I look at them all the time to keep the memories of the trip intact and to put a smile on my face. I had the best summer of my life, and I couldn’t have done it without TFT."

"I had the amazing opportunity to travel on the Europe for Older Teens trip to Amsterdam, Munich, Switzerland, and Venice with TFT in the summer of 2018 and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had! My amazing counselors were so welcoming and inclusive to not only me, but all the campers. I was a little nervous to go on the trip at first, but after just one day on the trip I knew I made the right choice! TFT programs are great because the counselors give you that independence you want, while also keeping everyone safe! That trip was one I will never forget, the memories I made with awesome people is priceless. Thank you TFT!"
