The Power of Educational Travel

Our authentic educational experiences are designed to turn the world into your classroom!

Educational travel gives students from all backgrounds the opportunity to expand their learning beyond the classroom! TFT offers a wide range of transformative programs for students from middle school to college. Reading textbooks and completing assignments only takes young learners so far. Our mission is to empower students with authentic, real-world experiences that enrich their learning, broaden their perspectives, and spark new interests and goals! From language immersion and cultural enrichments to photography workshops and community service, we partner with local experts to give small groups of students the chance to make lifelong memories and transform their understanding of the world around them.

Discover, Explore, Learn

Our tours feature carefully curated itineraries to ensure each student gets the most out of their travel experience. Daily itineraries are unique to each location and offer a careful balance between structured activities and free time for students to discover and learn independently. Groups have the chance to explore historical and cultural sites, immerse themselves in the natural environment, visit museums, connect with the local community, and much more! Browse our diverse programs and offerings. We understand that each traveler will bring their own goals, interests, and needs to the experience. That’s why we prioritize flexibility in our approach, working to customize tours and adapt to the needs of each individual group!

What to Expect on an Educational Tour

Curated Tours

Our programs are designed not only to teach students about local cultures, histories, and languages but also to instill practical lessons that will teach them to be authentic travelers! From learning about sustainable farming practices to participating in local environmental efforts, daily itineraries are packed with teachable moments that give small groups of 16-24 students unique knowledge and skills they’ll carry with them throughout their lives.

Immersive Activities

With TFT, you’ll never be stuck on a bus looking out at the local landscape. We believe cultural immersion is the key to educational travel. Enjoy hands-on, immersive enrichment activities such as cooking classes, dance lessons, volunteer and community service opportunities, and visits with local families and tribes to really dive into the culture!

Meals

Trying out the local cuisine is one of the most enjoyable aspects of traveling. When it comes to food, we believe in personal choice. That’s why we let our travelers order exactly what they like off the menu at each destination. Trip Directors also often select a few appetizers for students to enjoy! We accommodate most dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets as well as allergies.

Accommodations and Hotels

Hotels are our accommodation of choice because they offer the highest standards of cleanliness, proximity to attractions, safety, and comfort. Some tours may also feature additional fun and unique accommodations such as universities, adventure centers, or glamping! On average, 2-4 participants share a room but this varies depending on the type of accommodation and the gender breakdown. We always ensure every participant has their own bed.

Frequently Asked Questions

"The trip was a great success! I think all of the kids had an amazing time. Thanks for all your help in the planning stages. As for feedback, I can only really say positive things! Stefania was wonderful and did a great job leading us. I really think she did a nice job of reading the kids and being able to adjust our schedule as needed, but always checking with me first, which I really appreciated. I really am looking forward to planning another trip with TFT - just a matter of when and where! Thanks again."

"Both photography trips I have done with my photography students with TFT were amazing.TFT photography trips provide a great combination of practical knowledge and inspiration. The photography instructors are knowledgeable, communicate well with students and chaperones, and work hard to ensure that the travelers have a fabulous experience. It is amazing to witness our teens' skills and passion for photography grow throughout the course of the trip. Photo lessons and challenges provide the perfect opportunity to expand their skills and push them to try new things. Thank you, TFT for providing these amazing experiences!"

"I know you saw on social media, but I just wanted to “officially” tell you how wonderful the SHA British Isles trip was. Every day was full of fun and so many different activities and the pacing was perfect. Hannah and Hunt are awesome and felt just like SHA people (like you do too!). Our students were so happy and enjoyed it so much. It is truly a privilege to get to travel with them and be their teacher/friend in an entirely different capacity. All the trips are up on there on my “best of” list, but this one ranks near the top. Thanks for all the work that you and TFT do to make these trips possible. I know how much behind the scenes work goes on and how many different hands are involved. One of our Sacred Heart principles is educating to global awareness and I can’t think of many better ways to help them continue to develop into global citizens than through travel. I hope your summer is wonderful- with travel near and far- and that all the TFT trips are successes! Cheers!"
