Trip Overview

Our popular France Voyager program offers something for everyone as we explore four distinct regions of this incredible country. Wow your students with world’s best art collection in Paris’s Musée du Louvre, and get in touch with nature on a spiritual vineyard walk in Burgundy. Explore the secret passageways of the Alpine city of Lyon and stroll down the seaside promenade in Nice. Our perfectly-paced itinerary ensures that travelers will be able to see as much as possible without feeling rushed from place to place.

This program begins in the quaint Burgundy village of Joigny, famous for being the birthplace of Sainte Madeleine Sophie Barat, founder of the Order of the Sacred Heart. TFT has long collaborated with the Convent and the nuns who maintain Sainte Madeleine Sophie’s family home, and both students and teachers on this program are grateful for the chance to walk in her footsteps. Next, spend time in Lyon, the perfect city for understanding both French traditions and modern life. From there, we’ll travel to Nice. The Côte d’Azur awaits us with spectacular beaches, medieval villages, and boulevards buzzing with street performers and creperies. Lastly, no trip to France would be complete without visiting Paris, the City of Light, where we’ll take in the rich culture and history that has made this metropolis one of the world’s hottest travel destinations.

TFT began as Paris For Teens, and our years of experience bringing students to France means that we know exactly how to educate, excite, and inspire. After experiencing everything from the heights of the Eiffel Tower to the classic terraces filled with locals enjoying a café au lait, your students will come away with a new appreciation for French culture. Join us on this one-of-a-kind cultural experience and leave them with memories to last a lifetime!

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: Bonjour France!

Flight from your preferred airport to Paris.

DAY 2: Welcome to Joigny

When you arrive in Paris, you’ll be greeted at the airport by your Travel For Teens guides, who will accompany you for the duration of your journey. You’ll board your private coach directly to Joigny, home of the Centre Madeleine Sophie Barat, where we will be welcomed by the Sisters of the Order of the Sacred Heart. Tour the home where Sainte Madeleine Sophie grew up and enjoy your first dinner of traditional Burgundy cuisine at the Centre with the Sisters.

DAY 3: Walking in the steps of Sainte Madeleine Sophie Barat

Begin your first full day in France with a tour of the quaint village of Joigny. After lunch, take a contemplative walk through the vines with the Sisters. Walk through the rolling green hills of vineyards for an immersive experience into one of the most important aspects of French culture. During the afternoon, the Sisters will lead us in several spiritual meditation exercises. Students will have free time to explore Joigny before having dinner at the Centre.

DAY 4: Secret passages of Lyon

It’s time for the next stop on our journey. Take your private coach from Joigny to Lyon, stopping for lunch along the way. Upon arriving in this beautiful city, have a guided walking tour led by a local. We’ll walk through the traboules, or secret passageways that connect the buildings; visit the ancient Roman amphitheater and learn about the city’s multicultural past, and explore both sides of the Rhône and Saône Rivers. We’ll savor a dinner of traditional Lyonnais cuisine before taking an evening walk for gelato or dessert crêpes.

DAY 5: #ILoveNice

We understand that student travelers have diverse interests and needs, so our staff do their very best to accommodate everyone’s must-sees. This morning, students will have the choice of taking the funicular up to see the Fourvière Basilica; having more time for souvenir shopping; or taking in one of Lyon’s many wonderful museums. Then we board the train to Nice! Upon our arrival, we’ll take a seaside stroll around Vieux Nice, including the yacht port and the “#ILoveNice” sign. Climb up to the clifftop fortress and waterfall for incredible views of the Côte d’Azur. We’ll have our first dinner of Niçoise cuisine, followed by a nighttime stroll to soak up the ambiance and get a gelato for dessert.

DAY 6: Charming Provençal villages

Today we’ll explore some of the charming Provencal villages surrounding Nice. Begin with a morning visit to Èze, a beautiful medieval village on a clifftop, where you can also visit the Fragonard perfume factory. And who said school tours had to be all work and no play? Spend the afternoon relaxing on one of France’s best beaches. In the evening, we’ll have dinner in Nice and watch the street performers on the Promenade des Anglais.

DAY 7: Exploring the City of Light

Board the high-speed TGV train from Nice to Paris for a pleasant ride through the French countryside. After arriving in Paris and getting settled in, what better way is there to begin your time than with a trip up the world’s most famous building? After enjoying the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower, enjoy your first Parisian dinner in a classic bistro.

DAY 8: Bike through Paris like a local

To bring our journey full circle, we’ll visit Sainte Madeleine Sophie Barat’s tomb in the Church of Francis Xavier. Next, students will explore the Musée d’Orsay, home to some of the most famous masterpieces by Impressionists such as van Gogh, Monet, Cézanne, Signac, Manet, Degas and more. Enjoy lunch by the impressive Gothic Cathedral of Notre-Dame. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a bike tour of Paris’ hidden alleys and ancient history. Always a student favorite, our local guide will bring us through the Marais, past Bastille, across the Seine and to the ancient heart of Paris. (An alternative will be offered for those not comfortable on a bike.) Later, have some free time to explore the Latin Quarter before enjoying a traditional dinner of fondue and raclette. Cap off this amazing day with a twilight river cruise down the Seine to see Paris lit up at night.

Day 9: Best views of Paris

On your last day in Paris, get up close to priceless art like the Mona Lisa and Winged Victory on our guided tour of the Musée du Louvre. We’ll have a picnic lunch in the Tuileries Gardens before climbing the Arc de Triomphe. Enjoy some last-minute souvenir shopping on the world-class Champs-Élysées–now is the perfect time to pick up macarons from Ladurée! We’ll celebrate the end of an incredible journey with an upscale final dinner in the hip artistic neighborhood of Montmartre. See the infamous Moulin Rouge, the ancient windmill that still stands today, and the view from the Sacré-Coeur Basilica before enjoying haute cuisine at one of our favorite elegant restaurants.

DAY 10: Au revoir, Paris!

Your TFT guides will accompany you to the airport and assist you with check-in for your flight. Wave goodbye as you head through security and sit back and relax on your flight home.

We are there for you every step of the way, and our support begins the moment you decide to do a TFT trip! We will provide you with a team member who will help bring your tour to life, along with everything you need to help get students to sign up for the adventure! On the tour you will have 24/7 dedicated staff with you to ensure everything runs smoothly and because we know travel is full of surprises, solve anything that may pop up along the way.

Photos and Email Updates

Your trip is special and you and your students should have those memories captured forever! Expect frequent personal email updates and hundreds of photos from your TFT staff shared with you and your students’ families so everyone can follow along on the journey. "For my graduation present last year, I was grateful enough to travel to Italy with TFT! I was a bit nervous about traveling across the world without knowing anyone beforehand, but the staff and my peers were all so friendly and welcoming! Everything about this trip was so FUN, exciting, and very well organized. From the airport designations to the travel itinerary, everything was smooth sailing. There was always something new for us to do/see which was my favorite part of the trip. Although relaxing, it was fulfilling to be kept busy with a new culture to explore. I highly recommend not only the Amalfi trip, but any trip with TFT! They are an extremely trust worthy company and my parents were confident that I was being left in good hands. This trip was hands down one of the best trips I have been on and am excited to be traveling with TFT again soon!"

"When I decided I wanted to travel last summer, I looked at quite a few websites before I finally found TFT. I knew immediately that they were the company I wanted to spend my summer with because they had such a variety of intriguing options. The trip that really piqued my interest was the Europe for Older Teens: Prague, Austria, Slovenia & Croatia, and my experience with TFT ended up being two of the best weeks of my life! The activities were a perfect mix of history, culture, and free time to get to know all of the amazing people this tour allowed me to meet. Whether it was the locals, counselors, or other campers, I so enjoyed spending time with and interacting with them all! From wandering around the magical streets of Prague, gorging on pastries (and just food in general) in Vienna, indulging in the splendor of nature in Bled, and having my breath taken away by the charm of the Adriatic, every day was a treat. My summer with Travel for Teens was unforgettable, and I look forward to seeing even more of the world with them in the future!"

"Traveling with TFT was a life-changing experience for me. I was a very shy person and not very outgoing before I went on my trip to Europe. I was very nervous that I wouldn't fit in and the next month was going to be hard. In the end, it was the exact opposite. I made so many friends that I was sad to leave. The counselors made it easy to communicate with everyone so we were all really great friends. I would recommend TFT to anyone who is looking to step out of their comfort zone and travel. The activities we did were amazing. Although there was a tight schedule to make sure we got the most out of our trip, there was always free time at night where we could just wander and explore. Overall it was a life-changing experience that I will never forget!"
