Absolutely thrilled to join the TFT team, Shan is a New Jersey native whose love of cultural exchange and languages was sparked by a trip abroad with her high school German class. After majoring in German Studies, with a minor in Asian Studies, she taught English outside of Frankfurt and treasured the opportunity to travel throughout Europe. Recently she made a career change into teaching K-12 English as a second language, but before this she worked in diverse roles in higher education, including career counseling students at NYU and UC Berkeley. She holds a Ed.M. in College Student Affairs and just finished her master’s in teaching. In her spare time Shan loves going to language meetups, cooking Japanese food, and being best buds with her cat, Couper.
