Bilingual in Spanish and English, born in Guatemala, Maria has traveled to over 100 countries and lived in Eastern Europe, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Egypt working on humanitarian aid programs on behalf of the U.S. Government. When not volunteering for social causes like Girls on the Run, local food shelters, and the Cherry Blossom Run, Maria likes to hike, scuba dive, and practice yoga. Valuing life-long learning, system designs, and innovation, Maria is a mentor and adjunct professor who enjoys engaging with others to conceptualize and resolve current and yet unknown global challenges. Able to step outside the present moment and push the boundaries of the possible, Maria gains tremendous professional satisfaction and continues to learn by collaborating with others aspiring to leave the world a better place.
