Katelyn Williamson
Counselor
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Katelyn has always had a deep curiosity about the world and the people in it. After earning a degree in Political Science with a focus in International Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University—alongside minors in Spanish and Religious Studies—she followed her passion for cultural exchange and language to southern Spain, where she currently works as an English teacher in Andalusia. A lifelong traveler, Katelyn’s love for exploring began at an early age and has grown into a non-negotiable part of her life. After three years of solo travel across various countries, she’s gained not only a passport full of stamps but a deep sense of self-confidence and global understanding. Whether she’s striking up a conversation with someone new, diving into local cuisine, or exploring a new corner of the world, she’s always seeking connection and discovery. Outside the classroom and off the road, Katelyn enjoys drawing, cooking fresh and local meals, and creating all-natural products at home. She’s also a big fan of games of all kinds—from card games to video games to brain teasers—and loves any opportunity to learn something new. As a Travel for Teens trip leader, Katelyn brings warmth, curiosity, and a genuine love for people and cultures. She’s thrilled to help teens experience the magic of travel and gain confidence and perspective that will last a lifetime.
