Charlene was born and raised in San Diego and studied Linguistics with minors in both Anthropology and TESOL at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She first fell in love with travel when her family took their dream trip to Italy during her first year of college. She studied abroad in Southern Spain the fall semester of her senior year and even headed back after graduation. She has been teaching in bilingual schools in Madrid ever since. According to Charlene, the best thing about living in Madrid are the free hours at the Art Triangle museums and the cuisine from all of the regions of Spain!
Charlene has traveled all across Europe and throughout Morocco. As a language nerd, her favorite thing about traveling is speaking with local people and learning regional phrases!
