    Patricia Maloney, President, is an Occupational Therapist whose career path has embraced a number of businesses. She has cumulatively spent years in Europe, especially in Paris, much of which has been with teens. She knows the city like a native and continually searches for unique and authentic additions to our trips. She and husband, Frank, an astrophysicist and D-Day expert, have traveled extensively with teenagers throughout Europe. Pat is also a passionate animal rescuer and serves on the board of a large no kill rescue.

      Ned ClarkVice President & Program Director

      Ned Clark, Vice President and Program Director, is a graduate of Union College, speaks French and Greek and has led most of the TFT trips. A passionate photographer and avid scuba diver, Ned leads our marketing, business development and strategic planning teams. Ned is married to former TFT Trip Director, Kate Clark. They are the proud parents of two precious children, Cooper and Kiera.

      Katie ZinkhamDirector of Operations

      Katie Zinkham, Director of Operations, hails from Western PA. With a degree in accounting from Gannon University, Katie is responsible for the back room operations functions and all office logistics as well as overseeing our website development. She is passionate about wilderness hiking, camping, running and is an accomplished dancer.

      Trish BakerFinance Director

      Trish Baker, Finance Director, handles the financial logistics for TFT. Interfacing with parents on many logistical issues to make the travel experience as smooth as possible, she can often also be found at the airport on departure days. She has traveled through Ireland, France, the UK, and Italy. She is a ceramics artist and loves rescuing Jack Russell terriers and showing them in field trials.

      Keith RichardsonBusiness Development and Strategy Manager

      Keith Richardson, Business Development and Strategy Manager, grew up in Ireland and England before moving to the U.S. Keith earned a dual degree in marketing and management at Oklahoma State University. He has traveled extensively in Asia and Oceania and leads many of our trips there. He also handles much of our marketing. In his free time you can find him hiking, snowboarding or SCUBA diving.

      Nikki Delventhal, is a SoulCycle instructor and model/fitness expert, residing in the heart of NYC. With her eclectic background, working as; an NFL cheerleader, dance/cheer coach, choreographer, spokes model for various large brands/companies, and hairstylist, accompanied with her love of exploration, learning, research, and all things, hiking, outdoors and travel – she brings her high energy, positivity, drive, and knowledge to share with the group. Nikki is so excited to join us and build some lasting memories with TFT!

        Victoria van SambeckBusiness Development and Marketing Manager

        Tori van Sambeck, Business Development and Marketing Manager, handles much of our client contact and business development when not leading trips. After studying in Rome and graduating from Stonehill College, she returned to Italy for two years leading college students on trips all over Europe, prior to joining the TFT team. Tori handles our creative marketing ahead of her third year of leading our trips.

        Seth GrahamInternational Logistics Coordinator

        Seth Graham is a Philadelphia area native who has been privileged to travel the world since he was a teenager. A graduate of American University, he has traveled throughout Africa, Europe North America and the Caribbean. He loves live music, hiking, camping, rafting, SCUBA diving and of course the beach. Seth is also an avid ultimate frisbee player and coaches a high school team in the area. Some of his most rewarding experiences in life have been on teen travel programs; from getting up close and personal with Moose in Alaska or Mantas in Mozambique, to watching incredible sunsets over the Mediterranean Sea.  There is no more transformative process than travel and Seth is very excited to help every student he can to have a unique and memorable trip with TFT.

          Margaux CharpentierEuropean Development Manager

          Margaux Charpentier, European Development Manager, is a native of Rhode Island. A Wheaton College graduate, she was a teacher in Spain but now works for TFT full time from Madrid, Spain. Margaux researches trips, checks out hotels, interfaces with teachers and leads our Spain trips. A dual major in Spanish and Anthropology, she also speaks some French and has traveled all over Europe and Morocco.

            Taylor lives and breathes education and international travel. She completed her Peace Corps service in the Education sector of Cameroon where she worked with high school and university students before moving to Cape Town, South Africa where she oversees our Africa programs. Taylor always looks forward to new summer adventures with TFT!

              Marco NaranjoCentral and South America Program Manager

              Marco Naranjo, of Turrialba, Costa Rica, is our Central & South America Program Manager. He has spent 9 years leading groups and teaching teenagers about the Pura Vida in his home country. In his free time, Marco enjoys mountain biking, running and surfing. Marco joined TFT full time this year. He oversees all of our programs in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama and Peru. This will be Marco’s 4th summer working with TFT.

                Samantha Roy

                Samantha Roy of Denver, Colorado earned two biological science degrees from the University of New Haven in 2013. After graduating, Sam moved to Denver where she now works at the University of Colorado as a Professional Research Assistant. When she’s not in the lab, the self proclaimed “adventure enthusiast,” spends most of her free time hiking and exploring the Western United States. Over the past few years, Sam has spent months traveling all over Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. She’s looking forward to returning for her 7th year with TFT as a Trip Director in summer of 2017.

                    Emma Uri

                    Emma is a native of Seattle, Washington, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Environmental Studies from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. After her semester abroad in Athens, Greece stole her heart and she decided to move to Athens after graduation. She currently works as the Social Media Coordinator and as staff support at her former study abroad institution, and spends her mornings making coffee in her neighborhood. Her passions besides traveling include city walking, hiking, photography, baking sweet treats, swimming in oceans, and coffee dates, and she looks forward to her first summer with TFT!

                      Stefania, of Florence, Italy, will return to TFT for her sixth summer in 2015. Educated in both Italy and Greece, Stefania works as a freelance archaeologist all over Europe. She is fluent in Italian, English, Greek, and French, and taught Archeology at Marist University in 2013.

                        Kathryn, Saint Basil Academy alum, first caught the travel bug with Travel for Teens on a school trip to Greece. She was so inspired by TFT’s mission to teach teens to be travelers, not tourists, that she just had to become a part of the team! Kathryn loves working in the office and getting to see the “behind the scenes” action of Travel for Teens. When she’s not in the office, she is attending Widener University for nursing school, as well as participating on the Widener’s Track and Field team.

                          Jessica Paholsky, Videographer, earned degrees in photojournalism and international studies from Penn State University. She spent time in Umbria, Italy, for her honors thesis video and as well worked in Mexico and Cuba. She not only leads our trips, most recently to China and Costa Rica, but also produces all of our videos. Jessica is a runner, triathlete, artist and Border Collie fanatic.

                            Pascal Zytomirski, our Paris partner since 2003, is a native Parisian with an MBA from Babson College in Boston (1992). His knowledge and understanding of Paris, French culture, and his native’s access to hidden Paris bring a unique dimension to the Travel for Teens program, allowing our participants access available ONLY on our trips. Pascal has deep connections to the fashion industry in Paris.

                                Allison Vila

                                Allison Vila, a native of Paris, France, graduated with a degree in Spanish and French, with a teaching certificate from West Chester University. Allison has traveled extensively between Europe, Central America and Africa. A dual citizen of the USA and France, she brings her passion for travel and language to every one of the trips she leads for TFT.

                                  Bess, from New Brunswick, Canada,  and currently attending the University of New Brunswick, studying Sports Management. Bess is very involved in student leadership at her University. She is passionate about traveling, photography, and especially skiing. This will be her 4th summer with TFT and is excited to be a Trip Director!

                                    Breisen hails from Houston, Texas and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in history from Southwestern University. Both of his parents grew up abroad and emphasized travel experiences during his childhood. After moving to New York after college, Breisen made it a goal to explore at least one international destination each year. It’s still never enough.

                                      Graham Renfro

                                      Graham Renfro, of Charlotte, North Carolina, received his bachelors degree from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and is fluent in French. Graham earned his Law Degree from the University of North Carolina in the spring of 2012. He is a veteran Trip Director for TFT and has spent 6 years leading our trips in France, Holland, Belgium, and South Africa.

                                        Jacob Barto

                                        As a PhD candidate and teacher of German language and literature at the University of Oregon, Jacob has visited Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Liechtenstein multiple times independently and on exchange. Over the years he has made friends in different parts of the German-speaking world and visited them, learning about the different regional dialects and cultures (and cuisines!). He has also been to France, Belgium, England, and Slovakia, and is always looking for more opportunities to learn new languages!

                                          Jim Pesek

                                          Jim graduated from Wesleyan University in CT with a double major in Italian Studies and Classical Civilizations thanks in part to a year studying abroad in Bologna, Italy. He went on to graduate school in Italian Literature at the University of Pittsburgh before eventually settling down to teach Italian and math at a boarding school in St. Louis, MO. In addition to teaching, he is currently working on an MA in Education for Global Sustainability at Webster University in St. Louis and devotes his free time to yoga and strategic board games.

                                            Karin Maynard holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is a vice president for a prominent translations company. She has been a member of the TFT family for years and is excited for another summer!

                                              Karla Gonzalez

                                              Karla graduated from Stanford University in June 2014 with a B.A. in History with honors and a passion for exploring the world. She has spent countless summers visiting family in Mexico, two summers working in Sri Lanka, and four months studying abroad in Italy. She has also visited Nepal, India, Israel, Thailand, Turkey, France, and Spain. She is currently sharing her love for language and culture as a high school Spanish teacher in Baltimore, Maryland while she pursues her M.S. in Education at Johns Hopkins University. In her free time, Karla enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends, and she is looking forward to her second summer with TFT!

                                                  Mandie Nech

                                                  Mandie graduated from the University of Kansas with a double major in Spanish and Anthropology.  Her study abroad experience in Mexico during undergrad opened her eyes to a lifestyle of learning and adventure through travel.  After graduation, she moved to Chile and taught English for five months before returning to the US for two years where she worked as a tax preparer, tour guide, and Spanish interpreter.  She has been living in Spain since 2012, teaching English to high school and elementary school children.  Mandie has traveled throughout Europe, South America, the Middle East, and the United States, and is excited to share her love of travel with TFT!

                                                    Margi is a graduate of Saint Louis University in Madrid, Spain, with a major in Art History with a minor in Spanish. She was an exchange student in Catania, Italy for one year during high school and became fluent in Italian. She also studied in Florence, Italy during the Fall 2013 semester. In the past she has worked as an English teacher and tutor, a swim instructor, and camp counselor. Her hobbies are swimming, drawing, running, and travel. This is her third summer traveling with TFT.

                                                      Natalia von Sonn

                                                      Natalia von Sonn of Burbank, California, is a graduate of Wheaton College, where she majored in Anthropology and minored in Ethnomusicology. While studying abroad in Athens, Greece, she interned with Fair Trade Hellas and tutored students in English. Natalia speaks fluent Greek and is very knowledgeable about the country, its culture and its customs. This is Natalia’s 8th summer working with TFT.

                                                        Rebecca Walsh grew up in Mexico, Belgium, Zimbabwe, Canada, Argentina and Spain. After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Political Science and History, and a Masters Degree in Education, she has been teaching both elementary school and Spanish for ten years. She will be returning for her third summer with TFT.

                                                          Ruby Jenkins has a degree in Art History from Truman State University. She fell in love with travel on her first TFT trip eight years ago. Since that time she has traveled through Europe, Asia, Central America, and has studied in Italy, taught English in Korea, and is currently spending the next six months volunteering in Panama. Ruby continues her journey with TFT this year as a Trip Director.

                                                            Ryan Sullivan

                                                            Ryan is from Glasgow, Scotland.  He graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a First Class Honours degree in Music, where he was awarded several major prizes and scholarships.  Having cultivated a strong performance portfolio, Ryan then turned his attention to education and has been working internationally since.  In summer 2013 he was involved in the Study China Programme at East China Normal University in Shanghai, and in 2014 secured a contract to teach English with the British Council in Thailand.  He has recently relocated to the Middle East where he teaches at an international school in Doha, Qatar; and he previously lived in Spain where he taught at in international school in Girona.

                                                              Simon is originally from the UK but has been living in Asia for the last ten years. He has a degree in Biochemistry from King’s College London, but his love of travel has taken him extensive journeys throughout Europe and Asia. Simon now works as a freelance photographer, with his work appearing in National Geographic and several in-flight magazines. He’s also a published author with his book “Simple Scene, Sensational Shot,” which is a guide for new aspiring photographers. Simon sees himself as a traveler and is looking forward to inspiring teens to travel the world!

                                                                  Stephanie, a California native, has spent the last 7 years traveling
                                                                  and living overseas while developing her professional skill set in the
                                                                  education field. With degrees in Anthropology and Social Science,
                                                                  Stephanie enjoys the nuances and challenges of living in a new place
                                                                  and feels that her academic background has been invaluable for getting
                                                                  her out of the library and into the field. All these years of seeing
                                                                  new and exotic places have taught her that there is more commonality
                                                                  than difference between cultures; a great lesson to share with others.
                                                                  This will be her first summer working with Travel for Teens.

                                                                    Steve hails from Australia, mate. He holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Creative Arts from Flinders University. Steve works for Channel 10 News in Adelaide, Australia as a full time camera operator and editor. His experience working as a camp counselor together with his Aussie charm make him one of our best-loved staff.

                                                                        Tom Shepard

                                                                        Tom is a California native but has lived in several different places from Puerto Rico to South Africa. He studied Recreation Administration at Sacramento State with ambitions to explore the globe while experiencing new cultures and the wonders of nature. With several years of experience working in luxury hotels and two different safari lodges in South Africa, he has continued to pursue his passion of travel through his work with TFT. Tom strives to always live by the saying “If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.”

                                                                          Vesna is a Serbian girl with Croatian nationality, though born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She studied in the USA as well as Austria, where she is currently living. Although she graduated with a degree in International Business, working in tourism is her greatest passion and the reason why she continues to spend her summers with  TFT. Her hobbies include photography, foreign languages, and cooking, which go hand in hand with her desire for traveling. She is also looking forward to gathering new experiences on another summer with TFT!

                                                                            Kevin Kelly, an Irish citizen, studied International Relations in France before getting his master’s degree in Vienna. He will be joining us as a Senior Counselor this summer.

                                                                              Alice originally hails from the land down under, otherwise known as Australia but has made Bali my home for the past 6 months during a semester abroad. She has spent time travelling throughout Asia, Europe, Central America, Oceania and North America including studying in Mexico, Bali, USA and Australia. With a love for adventure and travel, Alice is excited for a summer with TFT.

                                                                                Flavia Cornejo Vargas

                                                                                Flavia has dual Peruvian and American citizenship and has spent her years growing up between these two countries. She graduated from Pace University in 2015 with a B.A. degree in Modern Languages and Cultures: Spanish and French, with minors in Latin American Studies and Sociology/Anthropology. In the Fall semester of 2013, she studied abroad in Paris, France followed by summer of 2014 working a part-time job in Costa Rica. She loves languages, traveling, and photography and is so excited to spend the summer with TFT!

                                                                                  Lukas Leitner

                                                                                  Lukas was born and grew up in Carinthia, Austria. After working as a bricklayer and technical draftsman for six years, he moved to Graz, Austria to study History, Sports, and Geography to teach at the secondary school level. He has worked as a counselor in Europe since 2012 and when it’s the off season you can find him either in school, working for sporting events, or traveling by himself. Apart from working and traveling, Lukas enjoys sports like football, beach volleyball, ice hockey, climbing, and eating (yes, eating counts!). Bis bald in Europa! (See you in Europe!)

                                                                                    Maggie Valz graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Education. She grew up working as a camp counselor and after student teaching in Australia, decided to teach English in South Korea. After spending the past few years as a Business Development Manager, she is looking forward to teaching English in Spain. Maggie has traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia and Europe, and is excited to spend this summer with TFT!

Her hobbies include bike riding, playing frisbee, and great food!

                                                                                        Nilson was born in Turrialba, Costa Rica. He is a passionate musician and sociologist who loves to read and play soccer. He has traveled  extensively throughout Central and South America.                                                                                           Scarlett Sanudo

                                                                                          Originally from Portland, Oregon, Scarlett has traveled to many different countries including, Spain, Morocco, and Italy. She attended the University of Oregon, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Religious Studies. Scarlett has worked at summer camps in Oregon and Washington and has ample experience working with youth ages 5-18.  After graduating, she served in the US Peace Corps where she spent two years in the city of El Hajeb, Morocco working with girls at a youth center and promoting a reading culture among Moroccan youth. Scarlett is also skilled in Spanish and Moroccan Arabic.

                                                                                            Briana Konecke, from Pennsylvania, spent 3 summers traveling throughout Europe with TFT as a camper.  Since that time she has worked her way up to a Junior Counselor. Briana has additionally traveled through Peru, Belize and spent several months collectively in Thailand.  This past semester, she has spent abroad studying in Australia.

                                                                                              Shira Rodman is from Potomac, Maryland, and currently a junior at Miami University majoring in Business Economics. She began as a TFT camper and has moved on to Junior Counselor!

                                                                                                Alena is from New York but a dual Irish citizen. She has spent the past summers as a camper, CIT and now Junior counselor with TFT. Throughout her TFT years she has traveled to Africa, Asia and Central America. She has spent the past year studying abroad in Denmark and India, which has allowed her to travel throughout both Europe and Asia.

                                                                                                  Sarah Carroll is from Ambler, Pennsylvania and is currently a junior at Shippensburg University majoring in Biology and minoring in French. She enjoys baking cupcakes, running, listening to music, and watching the Philadelphia Flyers. After finding her love for travel as a TFT camper she returned last summer as a CIT in Costa Rica and is very excited to join this summer as a Junior Counselor!

                                                                                                      Cristina Iglesias, from Florida, is a Communication and Psychology double major at UC Santa Barbara.                                                                                                             Katherine is both Canadian and American, but she currently calls home Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories of Canada’s subarctic where she is a first year Geography student at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Katherine began travelling with TFT back in 2014 and is thrilled to now be a part of the team! She also enjoys skiing, cycling, and playing guitar when she is not traveling.
