London is, of course, drenched in rich history, and you’ll want to learn about its storied past at the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster alley. Peruse the world’s best museums, walk in the steps of the Beatles at Abbey Road, and visit the fabled haunts of Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter.

Sip tea and indulge in fish n’ chips on pub patios before packing your bags and heading to Paris!

Marvel at the City of Light and experience the best of French culture, cuisine, and history. Paris is full of artistic masterpieces and incredible architecture and the best way to immerse yourself in this city is to stroll along its cobbled boulevards and eat your way through the arrondissements. See the restoration of the famous Cathedral of Notre Dame and peruse the upscale boutiques of Champs-Élysées. Enjoy a visit to the Louvre, home to Mona Lisa and stroll through picturesque Luxembourg Gardens.

You will have the option to join a bike tour to discover Paris off the beaten path with a local guide and soak up the city’s rich history. Sample the classic favorites, crêpes, fondue, and omelets,- at authentic restaurants, and give something new a try — escargot anyone?

For a unique view of the city choose to join a boat cruise down the Seine River and admire Paris from the water.

No visit to Paris would be complete without watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night. Our TFT guides will show you the best spot to view this sight that will surely leave you in awe!

Let the funky city of Barcelona sweep you off your feet! Get your bearings with a walking tour of downtown and explore the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla, Santa Eulalia Cathedral, and La Sagrada Famiglia. Cool off with fresh juices, sample tasty tapas, and local meats and cheeses at the hip, open-air Boquería Market. For those looking to dive deeper into Spanish cuisine choose to join a private cooking class and learn to make your own paella.

Sports fans will have the unique opportunity to tour to FC Barcelona, the Camp Nou soccer stadium. Travelers looking to relax can hit up the city’s pristine beaches and soak up the sun and cool off in the Mediterranean Sea.

Stroll through the magical Parc Guell and sit on the world’s longest bench designed by Gaudi.

Looking for even more Spanish culture? Catch a late-night flamenco show where the dancers are sure to mesmerize you with their lightning-fast feet.

Who can go on this program?

This program is open to adults ages 18-22 from around the world! Typically, our participants are culturally curious individuals who are excited to make new friends, experience something unique, and interested in stepping out of their comfort zones.

Where do we stay?

We stay in safe, centrally located accommodations, usually within walking distance of the main attractions. We do not use large, impersonal chain hotels on the outskirts of cities; we prefer to select smaller, family-run hotels where we establish personal relationships with the owners.

Do most travelers go by themselves?

Yes, in fact over 75% of participants who travel with us choose to come independently. This encourages travelers to step further outside their comfort zone and make new friends. We believe that one of the most rewarding and exciting elements of travel is the new friendships that are formed along the way. If you travel by yourself, you are bound to make new friends from all over the country and even the world.

What is unique about this program?

TFT’s years of expertise in leading programs throughout Europe provides unique insider access to our favorite spots and the opportunity to experience these cities like locals. Traveling like a local rather than a tourist is our goal!

What is included?

Tuition cost includes ground transportation; accommodation; chaperones and guides; some program-related activities and admissions; taxes and tips; all breakfasts and two dinners.

Not included in the cost (this is not intended to be an exhaustive list): airfare; lunches; visas and visa application fees; personal and medical expenses; activities and admissions unless otherwise stated; beverages other than filtered water at meals; participant expenses that are outside of the program description, such as excess baggage fees and damage to hotels; expenses related to unforeseen circumstances, such as transportation strikes and natural disasters.

What are the safety qualifications for our staff?

Our staff members undergo a rigorous hiring process. They receive the same background check as school educators, an extensive training process to go over all safety precautions and protocols, and are required to be certified in CPR and First Aid.  We exclusively hire responsible, multi-talented individuals who are safety-minded and are as passionate about teen travel as we are.

What is the average group size?

The maximum group size is 30 participants. Most tours average between 10-30 participants. Please contact us for more information about this specific program.

What is the food like on this program?

In a word – delicious! At TFT, we believe food should be an integral part of the travel experience and always make an effort to eat at authentic establishments when we can. What better way to immerse yourself in the culture of a place than by sampling the local delicacies, and we encourage students to do so whenever possible! Just as we stay away from Americanized hotel chains, we try to avoid restaurants with menus that cater only to tourists because every good traveler knows the best food is found wherever the locals are eating!

Even though a lot of food will look familiar to you, we encourage you to be adventurous, and step out of your comfort zone, try something new! Most British food will be similar to American food, although we will try fish and chips, meat pies, scones, and other local delicacies. The French love ham, cheese, and bread, and maybe you’ll be brave enough to try escargot! The food in Spain can be a variety of styles. In Barcelona, tapas are a very popular cultural specialty. Tapas are appetizer sized dishes that amount to a full meal. Both the Spanish and the French love their ham and cheese products. They also eat a lot of bread, have plenty of egg dishes, and many desserts have Nutella.

Of course, we are always willing and able to accommodate vegetarians, vegans, gluten allergies, and other dietary restrictions.

Do I need any vaccinations for this program?

We recommend checking with your family doctor regarding vaccinations and medical advice for the destination you are visiting. For more information, please check the World Health Organization’s website. Upon registration, we provide a list of recommended vaccinations that can be discussed further with your doctor.

What kind of visa do you need for this trip?

Any US citizen that enters Europe is automatically granted a free 90-day tourist visa.

When joining a TFT trip from outside of the US, please be sure to check your country’s specific visa requirements.

Do I need to speak the language?

No, our skilled staff members will help you get around and even teach you a few fun phrases!
