Where do you eat, and how do you deal with picky eaters?
Dinner, the main meal of the day, is typically taken in a restaurant. Lunch is usually a quicker meal eaten on the go (a picnic, a sandwich, pizza, or a salad), and breakfast is consistent with the culture being visited. Meals range from very high end and expensive to charming and ethnic, and often there is a choice. We discourage bottled water and encourage use of refillable water bottles to save you money as well as wasteful plastic.
We know that many teenagers can be a little bit picky. We encourage participants to try new things and broaden their horizons, as eating is always a central part of our cultural immersion experience. In any case, we can always work with the restaurant to find something that will work for everyone.
