WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER.

Traveling this summer requires extra steps and patience for participants and their parents. Parents and travelers should find their program destination/region below and review the action items required prior to joining our programs this summer both domestically and internationally. We fully anticipate that destinations may change their entry requirements between today, July 27, and when your trip departs. We will do our best to keep this page as current as possible. When in doubt, all families are encouraged to contact our office for clarification.

We are proud of the programs we are offering, and we look forward to answering any questions you may have on how we are responding to the pandemic. Our programs are well thought out and exciting, and we are sure you will agree! As always, we will continue to heed the guidance of public health experts and student travel experts and will make decisions with our participants, staff, and global community partners at the forefront of every conversation. Give us a call to discuss any additional questions you may have: 888.457.4534

FAQS: TFT AND COVID-19

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR NEW SAFETY MEASURES TAKING COVID-19 INTO ACCOUNT?

Parents and Travelers can view our enhanced safety protocols here.

WILL MY TEEN NEED TO GET TESTED PRIOR TO DEPARTURE?

Yes, all travelers, regardless of vaccination status are required to upload proof of a negative test to the parent website within 3 days of joining the trip.

FULLY vaccinated travelers (i.e. 14 days beyond 2nd dose) may use a Rapid Test in lieu of a PCR test for the following trips: ALL USA departures on or after July 22nd. Costa Rica, Belize, Ecuador, Greece, and Italy. Iceland & Croatia require very special instructions (see below). The PCR or Rapid test

NOT Fully Vaccinated travelers need to follow THE VERY SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.

HOW DO I UPLOAD THE PROOF OF THE NEGATIVE PCR TEST?

Login to https://www.travelforteensonline.com/

Click on the left side of the dashboard where it says “Online Forms.” It will expand. Click the fourth option “Additionally Required.”

You will then upload a photo of your negative test results.

HOW DO I UPLOAD THE PROOF OF VACCINATION TO TFT?

Login to https://www.travelforteensonline.com/

Click on the left side of the dashboard where it says “Online Forms.”  It will expand. Select the fourth option “Additionally Required.”

You will then upload a photo of your vaccination card.

DOES TFT REQUIRE PROOF OF VACCINATION TO PARTICIPATE IN PROGRAMS THIS SUMMER?

Travel For Teens follows the requirements of our destinations. Only Iceland and Hawaii are currently requiring proof of vaccination to avoid mandatory quarantine upon arrival. That being said, all parents should read our full vaccination statement here.

ARE THERE STEPS PARENTS AND TRAVELERS NEED TO TAKE PRIOR TO ARRIVAL?

Yes – read below to find your destination and understand the entry requirements and action items prior to departure. All costs for COVID testing before departure, during the programs, and prior to the return from the programs is the responsibility of the parent.

DOES MY CHILD NEED TO GET A TEST AFTER THE PROGRAM IS OVER?

As of January 26th, 2021, all travelers returning to the United States from any international destination are required to get a negative test within three days of their return regardless of vaccination status. Travel For Teens has pre-arranged for testing that meets the entry requirements for all currently enrolled international travelers. The cost of this test is $50 and will be billed to every student.

There is no requirement to get tested upon completion of any program within the USA.

Hawaii

UPDATED INFO EFFECTIVE JULY 8, 2021. FULLY VACCINATED TRAVELERS DO NOT NEED TO GET A TEST FROM A TRUSTED SAFE TRAVELS HAWAI’I PROGRAM PARTNER TO ENTER HAWAII. IF YOUR TEEN IS NOT FULLY VACCINATED – I.E. 14 DAYS BEYOND THEIR 2ND DOSE – THEY WILL STILL NEED TO GET TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SAFE TRAVELS HAWAI’I PROGRAM AS DESCRIBED BELOW.

All travelers to Hawaii must enroll in the “Safe Travels Hawai‘i” program. Click the link to watch a short video tutorial on how to register. This step is the ONLY WAY which you/your traveler can bypass the otherwise mandatory 10-day quarantine. I.e. even fully vaccinated travelers need to enroll to upload/proof of being fully vaccinated.

Key Points

Only tests administered by the approved partners under the program will be accepted. Click this link to find an approved partner. TFT is unable to confirm or deny any approved partner tests. All questions regarding testing for Hawaii must be pointed to the Safe Travels Hawai’i program customer service (contact info is on their website).

• Failure for students to get tested by the properly approved partner will result in your teen going into quarantine followed by a flight back to the US mainland to get an approved test before they will be permitted to fly back to Hawaii and rejoin the trip and avoid quarantine. All costs as a result of failure to comply with Hawaii’s entry requirements are the financial responsibility of the parent.

To reiterate what is written above  -After July 8th – FULLY Vaccinated travelers (i.e. 14 days past the 2nd dose) can show proof of being fully vaccinated in lieu of getting the specific testing required by Hawaii. If the teen traveler is NOT fully vaccinated before their departure, they will still need to comply with the Hawaii testing requirements.

• Tests that are approved for Hawaii are ALSO accepted by TFT for our own internal negative testing requirements.

• The approved tests for Hawaii for students who are NOT fully vaccinated must be administered no less than 72 hours prior to the departure of your flight to Hawaii. This means the specific flight that takes off and then lands in Hawaii, not the connecting flight. For Example – if you are taking the group flight 7/10 Delta 443: LAX 4:00 pm – HNL 6:41 pm, the test needs to have been given to you/your teen on or after 4pm on 7/7 Pacific Time Zone.

• A Negative test is uploaded to the Safe Travels Hawai’i Program website which will generate a QR code that you/your traveler will need to show during the travel to Hawaii.

• Will you/your traveler be asked to show anything upon arrival?
Yes: The screener will scan your Safe Travels QR code and information will be checked against information contained in records and electronic databases available to the Department of Health and others administering the Safe Travels program. You will need to show your QR code at EVERY hotel you check in to.
