Gwen Moore, TFT Junior Counselor (and former traveler), adds a certain je ne sais quoi to any trip she happens to be on. I’m not sure if it’s the dry, quick wit, her quirky playfulness, or the fact that you can suddenly find yourself conversing about Einstein and black holes while exploring the ancient Greek cisterns far beneath the modern city of Naples. Who could ask for a better traveling companion?

One of the great things about Gwen is that she has an incredibly unique photographic eye – she will always take the photos that nobody else did, and always in her own unmistakable style. This is what Gwen had to say about her favorite subject, mystery:

“My ‘photographic’ goal is not to capture what I see or experience.  In any given scene, I prefer instead to hint at what might be happening.  I know only a tiny portion of our vast and elegant universe, and I find the sense of “something more” very thrilling; indeed, one credible genius opined:  “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.  It is the source of all true art and science.  He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe is as good as dead:  his eyes are closed” –Einstein.  I find my photos best when they, my memories, preserve a single moment of enigmatic beauty.”
