It’s no surprise that Steve Williams’ favorite book is “On the Road”. He’s an Aussie with traveling in his veins who brings his A-game to every TFT trip that he leads. Steve is also a hugely talented videographer who is responsible for recording and editing video of TFT trips all over the world – no small task. Check out his documentary of the South Africa Community Service trip here!

Besides the essentials, list 3 things you refuse to travel without
If I have to travel, I can travel with just the essentials. I don’t have to have them, but I like: my iPod, a book and a pair of sunglasses.
What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?
Too tough! But maybe Yosemite National Park.
What’s the most beautiful place on Earth?
From what I’ve seen: it’s a toss up between Arches National Park & Yosemite National Park…I’d like to sometime get to Glacier National Park, however.
If you could live in one country (besides your current residence) where would it be and why?
USA for: the indie music scene; for the breakfast tacos in Austin, TX; for the basketball; for the pop culture; for New York City; for the National Parks and general beauty; for the arguable fact that it’s 50 countries for the price of 1.
What’s the strangest food you have eaten?
Nothing too crazy, yet.
What’s the strangest job you’ve ever had?
Promotional recruitment work for the US Army (strange, since I’m Australian).

What kind of camera do you bring with you when you travel?
Varies. So far it’s been either various point-and-shoots or mini-DV camcorders.
Have you ever backpacked through Europe, and where did you go?
Not technically, but I did a solo travel stint starting in Riga, then Moscow, St Petersburg, Warsaw, Krakow, Berlin & ending in Hamburg.
What’s your favorite landmark and why?
The Monument “To the Conquerors of Space” in Moscow, Russia. It’s massive and, in my opinion, designed beautifully. Just outstanding.
What’s your favorite beach and why?
Tamarama beach, Sydney Australia – the water’s beautiful, it’s in a nice little cove with cliffs around it and the waves are just perfect.

Basketball & tennis
