Adela Schwartz
Counselor
Adela graduated from Barnard College with a B.A. in psychology and is originally from Marin County. Adela participated in a TFT program when she was 15 years old and it left such an impact on her that she is now back as counselor with the hopes of promoting teens’ ability to gain new perspectives and find ways to connect deeply with the unfamiliar. With a passion for cross-cultural connection and working with adolescent populations, Adela has worked as a counselor at a Japanese summer camp in rural Kagoshima, an after school art teacher at the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem and as a clinical psychology intern at a private boys school in NYC. In her free time, Adela practices pilates, yoga and running and creates visual art (film photography+printmaking). She is planning to get a masters degree in mental health and school counseling with the goal of becoming a therapist.
