Thank you for giving me the gift of a trip to Greece with young women who mean the world to me and friends/co-workers who will remain entrenched in my heart as my Greece traveling companions. Thank you for being a role model and positive male influence on 38 teenagers, many of whom do not have positive, male influences in their own lives and truly need them. I can not thank you enough for respecting my girls, caring about them, defending them when need be, and simply being an advocate for them. They can walk away from this trip knowing that there are guys out there like you, Teddy and Steve; girls need to know that! Thank you for remaining positive in all situations, for having a miraculous amount of energy at even the earliest of wake-up calls, and for keeping all the chaperones happy with wine and food and laughs. And finally, thank you for reminding me that there is so much beauty in this world to be thankful for; you could not have known this, but I needed reminding. I'll be traveling in Ireland and England next month and I'm not sure what I'll do without TFT to plan my trip and make sure my sandwich is vegetarian and call ahead to this and that hotel... We hoped that the trip would be good for all involved, but never imagined how maeaningful and fun the trip could possibly be for the group! Fritz put together an itinerary that perfectly suited our seniors. I am in awe at the things he was able to make happen for us including skipping the two-hour wait to order 5 Grimaldi's pizzas for 16 starving students, getting tickets to Upright Citizen's Brigade Comedy Show for Friday night featuring Bobby Moynihan and Zack Woods, impressive orchestra seats to the mesmerizing "Wicked" and convincing security at the Top of the Rock that we should be allowed entrance even though we arrived 10 minutes after closing. He is good! His partner in crime, Max, did a great job relating to the kids and being a ton of fun along the way. Did you know that he is an accomplished pianist? Both Philip and Maria, our graduation student speakers spoke of the trip while at the podium on Friday and I also used highlights of the trip in my address to the seniors at our Senior Banquet the evening before graduation. So...thank you for making this happen for Trinity! I am hoping to plan a small trip for the rising seniors in May given the success of this trip. Philadelphia comes to mind and would be easy for you all. In addition, I want to pursue organizing a summer trip to Europe for 2011 for Trinity students. Let's talk about this when you have a minute. We alternate between France and Spain. This year we are going to Paris, Nice, Monaco etc... Last year was Madrid, Palma and Barcelona. This is my 4th trip with them. A French native, I have been teaching French and Spanish at GA for 31 years. Each experience has been terrific and has actually changed the life of a couple of students who came back from the trip more confident, mature and with a different outlook on life. We have been extremely satisfied every year and are already organizing next year trip to Spain. Cordially, Patrick D.
This is a company that cares about people. Not only did our group learn, experience, laugh and cultivate amazing memories, but we simply grew closer as friends and colleagues. Travel for Teens fosters the kind of environment that allows its participants to become travelers. Faculty and teens take buses together, ride the metro together, board ferries and exchange currency and find their airline gates together. We were able to mentor while simultaneously experiencing something new and exciting, ourselves. I was most impressed with the combination of independence and care that the counselors allowed our students; our girls were able to make choices but were given fair boundaries. They were taken care of without being coddled, and I believe this creates a forum for teens to become mature, young adults, to be proud to call themselves world travelers. Travel for Teens is a company that truly understands teenagers, and this is evident in the counselors’ ability to maximize the learning experience without losing any of the fun. My personal experience was just so enjoyable and fulfilling. The three young men who traveled with us to Spain did an outstanding job. They were very organized and made sure we all were well taken care of. They were extremely respectful of the students and the chaperones.
