DAY 1: NEWARK (FOR THOSE WHO OPT TO TAKE THE GROUP FLIGHT)

As the group flight takes off, the trip officially begins!

DAYS 2 – 7: ATHENS

You will begin in Athens, Greece’s capital and once the center of a vast empire where philosophy, art, and new ideas about government and democracy thrived. Climb the Acropolis for a close-up look at the Parthenon, perhaps the most spectacular ancient ruin in the world. We’ll tour the ancient Agora, and try to imagine Ancient Greek life before we turn our attention to the modern city, as we tour through its lively markets full of fresh food and authentic handmade goods. We’ll go off the beaten path in the authentic Plaka district, and learn about Greek cuisine as we prepare our own meal. Many other incredible sites await us outside the city of Athens. Visit the Temple of Poseidon, and with the god of the sea in mind, spend the day on a spectacular beach under the warm Mediterranean sun. We won’t miss out on mystical, mysterious Delphi, home to the Oracle that initiated the story of Oedipus and one of the sites of the original Olympic Games. This mysterious and spiritual place will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on you.

DAY 7 - 8: PAROS

Leaving Athens, we will travel to an island famous in ancient times for its immaculate white marble and for having sided in battle with the Persians against the Greeks – the locals paid dearly! Enjoy a tour, and then visit the most beautiful beach on the island for an afternoon of sun, and your choice of windsurfing, beach volleyball, or snorkeling!

DAYS 8 – 11: SANTORINI

Next stop is an island of dramatic red and black sand beaches, whitewashed houses and cobblestone alleyways. This is one of the premier luxury travel destinations in the world and the most spectacular of all the Greek islands. The pool of our hotel overlooks the sea, as do the terraces where we dine. You can swim in the gigantic caldera of a now-dormant volcano, vestige of an enormous eruption in ancient times that they say destroyed Atlantis.

DAY 11 - 13: ATHENS

An overnight ferry brings us back to Athens where you’ll have a final day to do one of the activities you may have missed at the beginning of the trip; take a peek inside an authentic bakery, check out the Benaki Museum, do some last minute shopping, or take a Greek dance lesson. Our final day we head to the airport for the flight home, reminiscing about our amazing experiences.
