Official Rules for the TravelforTeens.com International Friendship Essay Contest

Entry must be submitted online by 12:00 pm, EDT,
April 9th , 2010

The contest is open to all students enrolled in grades 7-12 in public, private and home schools.To enter, all contestants must first register online and receive notification that their registration has been accepted. A faculty advisor is required for registration.

The topic of the essay is: “Why do you think international friendship is important?”

Contestants may submit only one essay entry during any given contest year. Essays must be written in English, submitted online and be between 300-500 words. Every word of the essay is counted. This does not include the title, bibliography or footnotes. Any quotations or copyrighted material used in the essay must be identified properly. Failure to identify non-original material will result in disqualification.

The winner will receive a free TravelforTeens.com trip to Italy, including airfare (see trip details). The winner will be determined by a panel of experts including teachers and TravelforTeens.com counselors. Their decision is final.

Judging will be based on:
•    Persuasiveness
•    Originality
   
All entries must be received by 12:00 pm, EDT April 9th, 2010.
Due to the tremendous response to our International Friendship contest, the winner will now be announced on April 23rd instead of April 12th. Thank you for all your entries! 

TraveforTeens.com will have the right to publish or otherwise duplicate any essay entered into the contest.
