  A LITTLE HISTORY
While staying in Palma de Mallorca (our hotel is pictured to the right), we will delve into the history of this island, a strategic port that was ruled at various times by the Romans, Muslims, Vikings, Italians and Spanish.
The layers of cultures overlap and meld to create a truly unique culture where the natives speak to each other in Catalàn, not Spanish. |
  ENJOYING THE SUN AND THE SEA
Mallorcans are proud of the natural beauty their island has to offer. We'll take full advantage of our close proximity to beaches like none you've ever seen.
Our trip also includes a boat tour of the famous yacht club, where we'll see 4,000 of the most beautiful yachts in the world, including the King of Spain's pride, the "Fortuna".

SWIM, TAN AND EAT PAELLA ON A CHARTERED BOAT!
Our final unforgettable day on Mallorca will be spent aboard a chartered boat that takes us to a secluded beach. While we swim, the crew will prepare a paella feast for us on board. |
  DAY TRIPS OUTSIDE OF PALMA
We'll spend two of our days in Mallorca on day trips outside the city. One day we'll head up into the mountains to explore the monastery in a small town where Chopin lived for a winter and wrote some of his pieces. On another day, our travels will take us on an old-fashioned wooden train through lemon and orange groves over the mountains to the sparkling coast on the other side.
 OPTIONAL EXCURSION*
We will offer an optional excursion one day to see the stunning Caves of Drach, a coastal cave complex discovered in the late 19th century. These caves, fully explored and supervised, offer a fascinating view into the unbelievable geological formations under our very feet. After our visit to the caves we'll head a few minutes up the coast to one of the best beaches on the whole island to soak up some rays before heading back to Palma.
By the end of your time in Mallorca, you'll have a firm understanding of this utterly unique and independent-minded culture, a love for fresh, simple Mediterranean food, and perhaps just a little bit more tan than you were before...! |
  BARCELONA – Ancient Romans to Picasso and Dalì
From Palma we'll hop a ferry to Barcelona, home of the massive Gaudi cathedral, La Sagrada Familia, as well as Gaudi Park, the Barcelona soccer stadium (for those interested), and the museums of Picasso and Salvador Dali. All of these sights are just a short walk from our beautiful hotel located just off La Rambla.
BIKE TOURS, CATAMARANS, TAPAS, COOKING LESSIONS, AND FLAMENCO!
We'll see the best the city has to offer on a special bike tour, then watch it glimmer from afar on an unbelievable catamaran tour that takes off right from the Port of Barcelona, next the towering monument topped by a statue of Christopher Columbus. You'll get a chance learn to make tapas and paella with a fun, local chef, and then eat it!
We also have a Tapas & Flamenco night, which is pretty much exactly how it sounds--eat a variety of tapas and see a 45 minute Flamenco show. For our last night in Barcelona you'll dine in a beautiful outdoor rooftop restaurant overlooking La Rambla... |
