CoastThe TrailThis unique trip to Italy combines the best of both worlds – a community service project that has a real positive impact on the region along with four days of cultural exploration in Florence, the city that spawned the Renaissance.

The Cinque Terre is a rugged coastal area featuring five tiny fishing villages nestled between high mountains that plunge into the azure waters of the Mediterranean. This area is designated as the Cinque Terre National Park, a natural paradise and UNESCO World Heritage site criss-crossed with spectacular hiking trails* that connect the five villages.

Our community service project focuses on the maintenance of these hiking trails and the Park in general, an area that is at risk from the millions of hikers who pass through each year as well as the natural forces of erosion.

Cinque TerreOur days will be spent on these trails surrounded by vineyards and fragrant lemon groves overlooking the turquoise sea below. The views of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea are unbelievable, and you’ll love the satisfaction you get from taking part in this unique project. During our five days of work we will complete 30 hours of community service.

The beaches of our small seaside town often feature dancing and music at night, and participants will also have the chance to go clubbing and hang out with Italians at the hottest disco in Florence – all with our counselors right there with you, of course.

DaivdFashionIt won’t be easy to leave the laid-back lifestyle and beautiful scenery of the Cinque Terre, but equally great things await in Florence, from Renaissance masterpieces to world-class boutique shops and eateries. With insider access to an exclusive fashion school**, Michelangelo’s David, and the hidden wonders of Florence, this trip has something for everyone.

Our accommodations, activities and meals all reflect our genuine motivation to provide an authentic, real cultural experience to all of our participants. As on all of our trips, we incorporate choice and flexibility so that each participant can zero in on those aspects he or she finds most interesting, meaningful and fun.
