Getting to Know TFT – Maro Rose Sevastopoulos

It’s time to meet veteran TFT Trip Leader Maro Rose Sevastopoulos. You’ll find Maro this summer using her extensive knowledge of Greek language and culture on our Greece & Italy trip. She’ll be leading a group of lucky travelers from Athens to the Ionian island of Lefkada, and on to Pompeii and Rome in Italy.

What is your current job outside of TFT?  Senior Union Organizer

Besides the essentials, list 3 things you refuse to travel without. My lucky protective “ugly doll”, abreva, and a sense of humor 

What’s the strangest food you have eaten? Fire-roasted Bat, followed closely by bush rat ragout. 

What’s the strangest job you’ve ever had? My current one. My work is different every day and can vary from canvassing to baking cookies.

Do you play a musical instrument? Used to play cello & piano
What’s your favorite landmark and why? The omphalos at Delphi. Because it’s a belly button :)
What’s your favorite beach and why? Kathisma in Lafkada (Greece) – gorgeous!

What are your hobbies? Boxing, tango, reading,

What sports do you play? Used to play volleyball, softball

What do you love most about working for Travel for Teens? Sharing what I love with new travelers

What are the top 10 places you want to visit? Costa Rica, at least 5 more African countries, Belize, Thailand, India
