Want to learn why families love TFT? Check out these 15 reasons!

1. Ditch the tour bus
1. Ditch the tour bus
Tour busses are for tourists, and on our trips, you are anything but! We explore cities the same way the locals do. When you drive around a city on a bus and just hop off at the sites you miss the little things that make each place so special, like that hidden alley way in Rome or the charming cafe on the corner street in Paris. Missing the little pieces that make each city unique isn't the full experience and we don't want you to miss a thing!
2. Beyond Sight Seeing With Experiential Learning
2. Beyond Sight Seeing With Experiential Learning
There is so much more to each destination than just the sights! On every trip we have activities centered around experiential learning to bring the culture to life. Whether it be learning the ancient art of falconry in Ireland, checking out a sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica, visiting a hill tribe in Thailand or an authentic cheese tasting in the Swiss Alps, we always find ways to incorporate fun and unique activities into our itineraries that aren’t part of the typical sightseeing tourist agenda.
3. The Perfect Size
3. The Perfect Size
Our group sizes aren’t too big or too small. With an average of 15-23 kids per trip we guarantee you’ll have enough people to meet some new best friends but not so many that you feel like “just a number” or lost in a crowd. We couldn’t imagine a trip where everyone didn’t know each other’s name!
4. Personal Paparazzi
4. Personal Paparazzi
We don’t want you to spend your time abroad hiding behind a camera (even if you are on one of our photography trips!) so our staff are equipped with professional cameras to capture every last moment. So, no need to worry about not getting that epic photo of your first bite of Italian pizza. We are there every step of the way to document your experience. We even upload hundreds of photos to an online album each day to share with family and friends!
5. Savvy Travelers
5. Savvy Travelers
We don't want to just take you along our itinerary and show you each place, we want to teach you how to be a real traveler! This means we are with you every step of the way to give you tips and advice so that you can be a more well rounded independent traveler in the future. Want to learn how to Eurail pass works in Europe? No problem. Want to figure out how to navigate the night market in Thailand? We got you covered. Our seasoned staff are there to share their experiences with you and give you some insight!
6. Trips Just for Older Teens
6. Trips Just for Older Teens
We have trips exclusively for older teenagers. And we don’t just repackage our standard trips and limit them to older teens! Instead, we carefully craft new itineraries specially designed for an older crowd. Because we know that as you grow, you are ready to take on and embrace even more opportunities and adventures!
7. Staff who become new best friends
7. Staff who become new best friends
All of our staff are chosen not just because they are experts in the countries we visit, but because they are also fun and relatable! We think it’s important that you enjoy hanging out with your counselors, and we look forward to hanging out with you too! You may find you have a ton in common with us and we look forward to becoming your friend even after the summer is over!
8. Innovative Service Programs
8. Innovative Service Programs
We believe service trips should be meaningful, have an impact on the community, and go beyond what you have ever imagined possible. That’s why we have numerous unique service trips! Whether it be helping at a famous national park in the Cinque Terre in Italy, building playgrounds in South Africa, or nursing endangered animals back to health in Costa Rica, you will find each of our service programs have been carefully designed for you and the community to get the most out of it.
9. Choice and Flexibility
9. Choice and Flexibility
Teen travel should be enriching, but also fun. We understand that teens don't want to be herded through rigid schedules and we accommodate that by featuring choices in daily activities. Experienced travelers also know that unplanned activities often turn out to be the most memorable, which is why we are always flexible if there is a local festival, art exhibit or other fun even the group is interested in seeing. We give teens an active voice in what they would like to do and see and we cater to each unique individual's unique interests.
10. A Focus on Food
10. A Focus on Food
We would never dream of eating at an American restaurant abroad (no Hard Rock Cafe’s on our programs!) and we think set menus are constrictive. We understand that food is a huge part of the culture, so we make sure you get to fully experience every bite! We are against chain restaurants and only eat at authentic local spots! On our trips you can expect to order off the menu and try everything you want to, whether its escargot in France or sushi in Japan. Are you getting hungry yet?
11. Pursue your Passions
11. Pursue your Passions
Whether you are an art history buff excited to visit the Louvre, a sports fan dying to explore Bernabau stadium in Madrid or a budding photographer who can’t wait to photograph some of the most beautiful sites in Italy, we believe travel should encourage and help you further develop your passions. This is why we offer a wide variety of programs with a little bit of something for everyone!
12. Exciting Adventures
12. Exciting Adventures
Rafting down one of the most famous rivers in the world in Costa Rica? Check. learning to surf in Ireland? Check. Riding an elephant in Thailand? Check. At TFT there is nothing in the world we love better than a great adventure, and we make sure we find the best adventures to include on each of our trips! So you'll always feel like you were able to get the most out of your experience.
13. Confident Teens
13. Confident Teens
Traveling inspires confidence, and we want each of you to finish your experience with us at the end of the summer standing a little taller and feeling more confident and ready to take on the world. That is what travel is all about! So come join us this summer and discover what you are capable of!
14. Celebrate Cultures
14. Celebrate Cultures
Traveling should be about more than just seeing. It’s about experiencing! Which is why for every trip we focus on cultural immersion. We want you to gain a better understanding and appreciation of each culture and take something deeper away from your experience.
15. New Perspectives
15. New Perspectives
Traveling provides the incredible opportunity to see things from a new perspective. On all of our trips we make sure to highlight this and we live by the motto: it’s not strange, it’s just different! At the end of your time abroad you may discover you love some of the customs from different cultures such as leisurely strolls after dinner, fresh croissants for breakfast, or sleeping with the window open for a fresh breeze instead of air conditioning!
